Music on the Porch: Peter Lamb & the Wolves
September 20 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Our fall concert series continues with Triangle favorites Peter Lamb and the Wolves. An old-school jazz band with a contemporary twist, this group of talented musicians insists on having fun while they play. “If you watch videos of old big bands, people danced,” says Lamb. “It wasn’t just about the musicians–it was about the scene. I think that’s taught more in North Carolina than it is in New York.”
Lamb leads the group on tenor saxophone, aided by Paul Rogers on trumpet, Stephen Coffman on drums, and two musicians doing double duty — troubadour Mark Wells on vocals and piano, and Peter Kimosh handling upright bass as well as bass saxophone. The band holds forth at Raleigh’s hip Humble Pie on first and third Wednesdays. Take a listen on iTunes, YouTube, or their website. Then come out and hear them in person on September 20th!
This event is free and open to the public, and parking is free after 5:00 pm in the Park Place parking lot. The Center is also located along free Chapel Hill Transit bus routes A, CL, D, F, NU, and U. Bring a picnic blanket and stay for a while!
