Frances Ferris Hall Fund for Undergraduate Research – The Frances Ferris Hall Fund supports research by UNC-CH undergraduates on women in the American South. Awards of $3,000 will be conferred by the Office of Undergraduate Research through the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURF). Students should indicate their interest in the Frances Ferris Hall Undergraduate Research specifically when applying for this funding through SURF.
Plambeck + Vogel Awards
The Plambeck and Vogel Awards provide funding for three undergraduates in the amount of $3,000 each to support oral history research or fieldwork during summer 2022. Southern Mix Award
The Southern Mix Award provides one undergraduate $3,000 in funding and the opportunity to work directly with SOHP on the Southern Mix project during the summer of 2022. Southern Mix: Asian and Asian American Voices in the South is a collaborative project between the Asian American Center, the Carolina Asia Center, and the SOHP. The grantee will work 15 hours per week for 10 weeks (May 17-July 29, 2022) during the summer to assist SOHP with transcription and audio-editing of Southern Mix interviews, writing abstracts, helping to process materials for deposit in the Southern Historical Collection at the Wilson Special Collections Library, reviewing of existing materials to assist with the curation of content for the new Southern Mix website, and potentially conducting new interviews.
