“Ever Wonder Where Your Garbage Goes? Landfills, Sustainability, and Environmental Justice”

Blair L. Pollock serves as a solid waste planner for Orange County, North Carolina. A founding member of the Carolina Recycling Association, he helped initiate Orange County’s public recycling program in 1987. Pollock holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a national trainer for recycling managers with the Solid Waste Association of North America. In this conversation, he will discuss the history of the closed landfill in Orange County and explain how expanded recycling programs can further reduce solid waste.
