Charleston Lecture & Southern Cultures Issue Launch with Tish Hinojosa

November 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This year’s Charleston Conversation on Southern Affairs will double as an issue launch for our special “Music & Protest” issue of Southern Cultures. It will be a musical conversation, featuring acclaimed singer-songwriter Tish Hinojosa who has dedicated her career to playing border, country, and Tejano music from the southwest, performing in English and Spanish. Ms. Hinojosa recently released her seventeenth album, West, which she describes as focusing on “renewal: getting back on my feet, regaining my health and creativity.”

The cash bar and celebration of the Fall 2018 issue of Southern Cultures will commence at 6:00 pm with the performance and conversation following at 7:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
