Breaking Barriers: Women of Color and the Right to Vote
September 27, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Please join us for an exploration into the fight for the right to vote by women of color. This year is
the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the ballot, and the 55th anniversary
of the Voting Rights Act prohibiting racial discrimination in voting. Yet, women of color have
faced unique challenges in exercising their rights…and still, we persist.
Keynote presentation by Valerie Ann Johnson, PhD – Dean of Arts, Sciences, & Humanities
