“The Shared Past and Present of Black and Indigenous People in the United States”

Dr. Malinda Maynor Lowery, historian and Director of the Center for the Study of the American South at UNC-Chapel Hill, delivered the 2020 Keynote Address for the Moore Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program or MURAP 2020 Conference. The conference theme focused on care during a time of extreme duress, and how marginalized individuals and communities cope, adapt, and become more resilient. Dr. Lowery’s address, “The Shared Past and Present of Black and Indigenous People in the United States,” was followed by a Q&A with students, faculty and community members.
