Educational Materials

The Center for the Study of the American South partnered with the North Carolina Civic Education Consortium to prepare classroom materials and complete lesson plans around themes found in The Editor and the Dragon, including the power of the press, the importance of integrity in journalism, and the ability of one person to make a difference in the lives of a community, a region, and a nation. These materials are free for classroom use and are aligned to NC Essential Standards.

Classroom materials are available here. Teachers may obtain free copies of The Editor and the Dragon for classroom use by emailing csas@unc.edu.
